  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Latte

  • 2 shots espresso or 1/2 cup strong coffee
  • 3/4 cup milk any type
  • 2 tablespoons blueberry syrup or to taste
  • 5-6 fresh blueberries for garnish

Instructions

  • Combine fresh blueberries, sugar, and water in your saucepan over medium heat.
  • Bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar completely.

  • Mash the berries gently with the back of your spoon to extract more flavor.
  • Remove the pan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Strain the syrup through your fine mesh strainer into a bowl, pressing on the solids to extract all the liquid.
  • Discard the berry skins and seeds that remain in the strainer.
  • Brew your espresso or make a strong cup of coffee while the syrup cools slightly.
  • Heat and froth your milk using your preferred method until it becomes creamy and foamy.

  • Pour the hot espresso over the syrup and stir to combine the flavors.
  • Slowly pour the frothed milk over the espresso mixture, holding back the foam with a spoon.
  • Spoon the remaining foam on top of your drink.
  • Garnish with fresh blueberries and enjoy your homemade blueberry latte immediately.
